Kasui-en reopened after renovation in July, 2020

Based on a design by Japanese master architect Togo Murano, Kasui-en capitalizes on a varying topographical landscape stretching as far as Mt Kacho in the distance to fashion an enchantingly rhythmical self-contained wonderland punctuated by internal corridors and open spaces.
Kasui-en offers 12 luxurious guestrooms, ranging from 52 to 100sqm.in size. Each guestroom features a bathroom with hot tub fed by a natural volcanic spring.

This annex, designed by celebrated architect Togo Murano in 1959, is a classic example of traditional Japanese "Sukiya" style architecture, Characterized by graceful, minimalistic aesthetics that flow with the topography of the land. The style uses natural materials that harmonize with the building's natural surroundings. Kasui-en has been hailed as a masterpiece of modernist Japanese design.The works maintain the elegance and beauty of curves of Kasui-en for your comfort and good rest.

Entrance for extrodinary experience



Step through the impressive gate with cypress bark roof hinoki bark thatch gate and into a haven of serenity where the noise and hubbub of everyday life seems worlds away. Here you will find a breathtaking white sand courtyard garden with distinctive gourd feature as well as the stunning Kasui-en garden that sympathetically incorporates existing natural rock formations.

Creating a sense of spaciousness and comfort



Every guest room has a bathroom with wooden bath made from Japanese umbrella pine and cypress, with hot tub fed by a natural volcanic spring. The wonderful scent of natural wood creates a soothing ambience. It's the perfect way to relax and escape from the rigors of travel.

A dedicated "landlady" looks after guests in Kasui-en. The landlady ensures guests' every comfort, from arranging meals to providing tea, flowers and sightseeing information. With the very exclusive "Kasui-en Plan" offered to only one reservation per day that guests can enjoy a special in-room "Kaiseki" style dinner.
